"Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, 'In this world, Elwood, you must be' - she always called me Elwood - 'In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant.' Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant."
One of several things the Army will drill into your head is the notion that one never trains to the standard, one trains to exceed if not set the standard. Meeting the standard impresses no-one, not to mention still leaves you playing catch-up. It's a really good idea to report in the best shape possible. That being said, good luck with the Army.

I didn't like ANY of you.
If it's any consolation, we didn't particularly care for y'all, either
Understood!
Nothing personal, mind you. Hopefully, your period of service was rewarding.
