      shipo,  great progress!

weight vs mileage vs proper training plan?    Obviously  all  play a part in improving training & race times   my vote goes to mileage & building larger aerobic base.  then proper training plan, & then weight loss.  other important factors would include experience (how long,  what kind), age & diet etc etc   weight loss comes by increasing excercise & "tweeking"  diet.  it all factors in.   don't think you can isolate just one factor & use it explain the improvement in race times.

you obviously are doing the right things.  keep it going!

        Thanks skyedog.  Smile

Friday's race was good from a time perspective, errr, until I noticed the age and time of the guy who got second place overall.  The dude was 48 years old and turned in a 16:45 5K; I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy...  Smile

        Fat old man PRs:

        • 1-mile (point to point, gravity assist): 5:50
        • 2-mile: 13:49
        • 5K (gravity assist last mile): 21:31
        • 5-Mile: 37:24
        • 10K (first 10K of my Half Marathon): 48:16
        • 10-Mile (first 10 miles of my Half Marathon): 1:17:40
        • Half Marathon: 1:42:13

theres a few around here in their 50's & couple in 60's running those times or very close to it.  very impressive ! wow!

There's a very popular women's 4-miler in town.  The winner of the last few years went to the Olympic trials this Summer.  But the second place woman was 35, clocking the race at 5:35min pace. o_O
