What does Tunis make?
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
No offense.
Ultima tastes like failure.
fartlek type runs
The other night by dog farted, but lo and behold she really had the fartlek type runs.
Seperately, my 5YO daughter proclaimed while we were out to dinner "MY KETCHUP JUST FARTED".
That is all.
mr train you are a pain, your words - they make me go insane
they strike my ever-thinking brain like little drops of acid rain
oh, to my life you are a bane; crazy, mixed up, mr train - r2e
Keep everything within perspective. It should be a building block. While you make it fun and entertaining remember that several of these runners will go onto running more through the summer and winter months and becoming some pretty good high school runners.
- Indian Runs (last to first sprints single file line) are pretty good.
- Sports days (soccer, ultimate frisbie, etc) are an option once every couple of weeks
- If 2 miles is far keep the long days down to 3 miles
- Intervals done in relay form are solid (3 man teams doing 200meters at a time are solid) Thisa should be done in a continual fashion (almost sprint 200 rest while the next twogo to get back to you then complete another 200. When the entire team has done 6 of them the race is over. it pushes each individual to give it their best effort.
- Football field suicides are good too. Run from the end zone to the 20yd line then back to the 0 yd line and then turn and run to the 40 and back then to the other side of the field 40 and back and then to the other side of the field 20 then all the way over to the other end zone and back. this will get you a total of 600 yd intervals. Do this 2-3 times then do a cool down lap.
The end result though is to teach them track and field and how to learn to do the intervals and why you would want to do them. Most of my coaches never taught me why I should do them but instead just wanted us to do it. I love and always have loved running and my favorite coach was the one who educated me on why one should run different workouts and such. Remember a long run could be done as a homework tool. Run here and answer this question run there and answer that one. Sorta like an amazing race type thing.

This is why I ran the Copenhagen marathon. They had fine fart holders!
