I lost 125lbs about a year and a half ago without really any exercise. Now I want to get in shape. You can run all you want but if you are consuming more than you are burning you will not lose weight. What you eat is more important than how much you exercise but ideally you should have a balance of the two. I know a lot of people who have gone to the gym, etc... and worked their butt off but don't lose any weight because they still eat too much and the wrong things.
