Race Name: Spring into Summer 5K Distance : 3.1 miles Date: 06/07/08 Location: Tampa, FL Finish Time: 30:04 Goals: hoped for sub 30, based on last months 5K PR.
Race: Hot, humid, sticky - all at 8am! Decent race overall, running through the wooded areas and multiple water stops helped a lot! Sped up too early at the end and felt pretty queasy at finish. Managed not to lose it.
Lessons Learned - I can speed up faster and not die at the end - will continue to work on getting under that 30 min mark! |

Haven't posted for a while, but have been getting my races in. Had tummy issues before Saturday's 10K. Prayed to God that I would not have to run and poop. Guess I should have prayed to run fast too because tummy settled down but didn't run anything special. Avg pace 8:30. I had been camping the night before and while I tried to be careful, the camping did not help.
Everyone stay healthy and cool. Sounds like we all need an ice bath just to deal with the humidty. |
