Ouch!

I went out and got a lightweight hat today on my lunch hour. Hopefully this is the end of my sunburned days... yeah right.

I got a bit of a sunburned head yesterday as well. Was out at an intersection (no not pimping myself! Sheesh! Roll eyes ) collecting for our FD Relay for Life Team for a couple of hours and then in the yard at home working for the rest of the afternoon. Shoulda wore a hat.

Zoomy, I'm not sure when I'll get the results of the MRI... my family doc is supposed to call me when he gets the radiologist's report.

I guess being off running has made me a wee-bit pervier than usual.

Oh, and the gun thing... if you're from Michigan, Wisconsin, or Minnesota, I think you're born with a shotgun or 30.06 in your hands. That, and a fishing pole.

Rick...got my fingers crossed for you.

...and so I'm not completely hijacking the thread...

Not my biggest pet peeve, but people who drive like nuts in huge gas guzzlers. C'mon, slow it down and quit burning through that $70 so fast. If we all use gas slower the price might just come down a bit.

Drew, I have had so many sunburned scalp issues in my life...I have a ton of hair, but it's baby-fine and so pale that those UV rays cut right through. I ALWAYS wear a hat (helps protect my nose from burning and wick sweat, too).

Not even using it slower, but using it less...slower speeds = better gas mileage. I've been setting my cruise closer to 70 than 75, lately.

Rick, I was born with a block of cheese in my hand, remember?

My biggest pet peeve is when people chew with their mouths open or make loud chewing/slurping noises. My 10 and 5 year olds do it and I sound like a broken record at the dinner table....grrr Evil grin

Driving in the car with someone who is eating an apple, chewing gum, or eating potato chips is enough to send me through the roof! I have to crank the music up to drown it out! lol Found the following cure on the internet:

How to stop someone from chewing with their mouth open for good

If there's one thing I can't stand, whether on a date, or with my significant other, or even when sitting down for Thanksgiving dinner with my entire family, it is the God-awful open-mouth chewer. I often catch myself closing my eyes at the table and plugging my ears to drown out the sound of lip-smacking, so much so that I created the following effective approach to remediate this issue.

InstructionsDifficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
a crowded dinner table or restaurant
a hotel desk bell
knowledge of the human lower mandible region
a basic knowledge of classical conditioning
persistence and love
Step1: Sit down and start enjoying your meal. Once you isolate the source of the offensive lip-smacking sound, place hotel desk bell on the table surface for all to see, and stare intently at the offender.

Step2: Ring bell three times and rush around table to location of offender. Proceed to open-palm strike said offender in the lower mandible region until an audible "crack" is heard. Unapologetically rush said offender from the room, proceeding to the nearest ER.

Step3: Accompany offender to the ER and subsequent jaw-wiring appointments, and offer to blend foods and straw-feed to offender for the several months following jaw-closing procedure, emanating an air of indifference all the while.

Step4: Accompany offender to jaw wire removal appointment. On the trip home, take offender to their first "real meal" in months, be it voluntarily or not.

Step5: Sit down, order meals. When food comes, gently place bell on table surface and stare at your former offender intently. Problem solved! HOORAAAAY! Enjoy your newly-conditioned dinner mate!

Oh peeves, I've got a few.

dogs
raisins- Seriously, have you ever heard some exclaim "Oh, raisins!" in a positive manner. It's always said with the disappointing realization that what you thought were chocolate chips, were, in fact not.
emoticons
Wal-Mart
the "economic stimulus" tax cut
"Run Forrest, Run!"- Come on, that movie is 14 years old! I'm all for someone demonstrating how their quick wit trumps my cardio fitness, but if your best material is 14 years old, maybe just keep it in the car.

Oh, and of course, the son of Jor-El, that guy can just piss right off!
