If we don’t try we’ll never know. At least I can find out how good I can be. I can have an answer at the end of the days, and have a hell of a good time with the process. -Desi Davila
2012 goal = 4:59 for 1,500 meters. (before then just get healthy)

I'm signed up for the Chicago one. I can let you know how it goes as it will be the first time running this series. I also got a $13.10 off coupon which made it very reasonably priced.
The fatal flaw of this race is that it is the same day as the north shore half. RAM puts on a good race and you don't have the parking issues on race day. Plus I like the course a lot more but that is subjective.
Thank you, Brian.
Has anyone run any of the races in this series and/or have thoughts on this?

+1 The South Side lakefront is not exactly what I would call one of Chicago's scenic treasures.

Spoken like a Cubs fan. You probably don't drink Old Style either.
MTA: Though I am sure you are right.
mr train you are a pain, your words - they make me go insane
they strike my ever-thinking brain like little drops of acid rain
oh, to my life you are a bane; crazy, mixed up, mr train - r2e

I'm always right. Pay attention.
Another thing I'm right about...I don't go near Old Style. Yeeaaaccchh. Only thing worse is Iron City. I've always wondered if Pittsburgh people actually drink that, or if it is just a novelty because of those bottles.
And yeah, Sox fans laugh at this beer snob BS.
"That's very pricey for a half marion", ...and "I like races put on by local runners who know stuff about running and the Boston area."
Dingdingding.
These are the kinds of things that made it feel not quite right.
I was thinking of running the NYC one, because the NJ Half is now at 90 (90!) bucks. Now that's pricey for a half Mary.
I guess the lesson here is you apparently can't decide in the Spring (or even late Winter) that you want to run a Spring half marathon. In this vein, I guess I had better register for a Fall marathon now.
mta: WrigleyGirl, you heard about the potential Toyota deal right. lol.
I hadn't until now. Thanks, pal. I'm gonna say that the very new owners aren't going to risk all that good will, happy tingly feeling they have been having with the fans by pissing all of us off so soon.

Only when feeling nostalgic or homey- like at a Steeler or Pirate(the best AAA team in MLB) game.

No offense.
That's only if you want a fancy race. There are a bazillion halves. Many of these don't require 3-season-ahead planning.
Ultima tastes like failure.
