That's only if you want a fancy race. There are a bazillion halves. Many of these don't require 3-season-ahead planning.

I was actually hoping you would chime in.

Also, Half2run.com has a calendar. It is a site for people running half the marathon in half the states.

Why not run 50 states? We've got plenty of reasons. Think of all the places you've never dreamed of going to and never wanted to.

Heck, I'm a 50 stater, and think that is a more than valid point.
