Watches in the $100 Range - Anyone have any recommendations? (Read 754 times)

I'd love a Garmin but it's just not in the budget at the moment. Can anyone chime in with their experiences with watches in around the $100 Range? Any favourites? Thanks!
Timex Ironman. 50 lap. Is there anything else?

I like the 30 lap Ironman with the HRM. I've used mine for a year now with no issues. Even though I'm a big guy, I like the mid size. I dress business formal for work and it hides nicely under dress shirts. http://www.amazon.com/Timex-Ironman-T5C401-Digital-Fitness/dp/B000221VOA

Timex 50 lap ironman ought to be fine. I've had several (can't remember what happened to the first, but it was godawfully ugly (like, light blue accent plastic on the case.Maybe i tossed it for...) 2nd one, got soaked in the sink. thought it was dead, so I bought a 3rd. A week or so later, it must have dried out. Still works.

Well, the Ironman [of various specs] seems to win hands down so far...I guess pRED is right!

I find the 30 lap is almost never enough for my workouts with warm up and cool down. 50 is usually ok 100 is always good The 100 I had (got destroyed in the woods) would save more than one workout in its 100 laps and keep them separate.... I liked that a lot. mta: you could look for a used Garmin 201 at amazon

I bet with a little research and use of on-line coupons/promotions you could find a Garmin 205 close to - if not at - $100.
