I'm old.  Remember?  Don't make me look the date up.  I have about 20 lines to add as it is.

Jeff, good luck at Hartford, I ran it this past year. Was a little hotter than expected at the beginning though (75 degrees), probably the best race in terms of organization and getting everywhere. I stayed a hotel across the street from the expo and start line. Very convenient. Oh and the course was a little more challenging than I had expected, second half was a little tougher than the first half.

      Thanks.

Good luck and if you end up at Baystate - watch out for mile 24-26, the camber of the road is pretty steep.  I would say it is like a 40 degree angle towards the right, I had to fight last year to keep myself going straight.  Best bet if the cars allow it is just to run smack dab in the middle of the road there.

Going to run The Cox marathon 5/2/10.

Goal BQ Marathon will Be Hartford In 10/9/10. I need a 3:15:59

        Bucci,

Let me know if you end up going to Hartford.  If that ends up being my race, my plan is to just hang with the 3:15 group the entire way (or at least till the wheels come off and then hopefully dont let the 3:20 group pass me.

          Sorry 'bout that.  It's fixed.

            Hi Jeff,

I will defenitley let you know. That was pretty much my thinking as well for the race. Stay with the pace group and hang on for dear life at the end.

Yeah, but lucky me I actually get a 5 minute buffer there.  If I dont make 3:15 for the 2011 Boston Marathon, then I turn 40 and can still use a 3:20 to qualify for 2012.  Hopefully I wont need it.

I'll join this. My qualifying time is 3:10. My plan was to run Boston this year (I'm qualified from a fall 2008 marathon) at a more relaxed pace, and try to re-qualify in the fall, possibly a Bay State. That way, I could do my heavy mileage in the summer instead of the winter. But with Boston filling up so early this year, I'm either going to try and do my BQ at Boston, or otherwise find a marathon to qualify at in the summer (I'll take any suggestions on a fast summer marathon!). Right now, I think I'm only at a 3:18-or-so level, so I have some work to do to get back into BQ shape. My fear is that if I try a Bay State qualifier, it's possible that Boston could fill up before I have a chance to register.

OK.  I made the updates from today.  Let me know if I missed anyone.

And for the record I'm in, too.  It will be in the fall.  I am just not sure of the race.  Right now Wineglass is the front runner.

(sigh)...another year, another futile BQ attempt or two...

                    Newport Oregon 6/5/2010.  I need a 4:00.

Hope to re-qualify at this year's Boston:

Slight change in plans ... I want to give myself an earlier chance to qualify next year. First attempt is Vancouver BC on May 2nd. BQ time of 3:45.

                              Sun, come shine my way.

May healing waters bury all my pain.
