Happy Dopple Bock Day! (Read 1962 times)

DB is in second by a lap as of 10:15 pm. Sad to say but crew and friends are pretty much thinking 130's. Sad

DB is losing by 2 (2.42 mi) laps. He has 98.52 as of 16:58.

I am having a Surley Coffee Bender. There is a ton of coffee in there, not just toasty malts. DB's wife is having a New Belgium 1554. Scovill and buddies picked up a case of Hamm's.

The thing I hate about 24 hr races is I feel guilty going to bed without being able to pull for my people through the finish...

No kidding.  I had a 50K run with my group tonight, and I felt like a complete and utter wimp for having worried about it with this insanity going on.

          GO DB!  Go Don!

And congrats to Buzzie and WG!

You all make me feel like a wuss.

"When a person trains once, nothing happens. When a person forces himself to do a thing a hundred or a thousand times, then he certainly has developed in more ways than physical. Is it raining? That doesn't matter. Am I tired? That doesn't matter, either. Then willpower will be no problem."

Buzzie dropped 11.5 hours early with a bad foot that is showing bruising right now. DB was just on his lastest loop for a long time. Walked in with a knee that gave out, put a patellar strap on it and limped out. No good.

All the info you don't want: DB's wife is drinking a New Glarus Organic Revolution, I'm having a Deschutes Black Butte Porter, Buzzie a Surley Bender, and PaulyGram just joined us. He is having a Great Lakes Conway Irish Ale. I am drinking to ease the croch chafing which still hurts, but it is not as bad as DB's raised welts on his balls. He has slowed a bit and was coughing pretty bad earlier.

The sun has come up and more runners are out putting in miles. DB is in third, but he hasn't thrown in the towel.

                  GO DB!!!!
DB is in his final hour, doing short (.25 mi) loops. It is not the day he wanted, but he is still (somewhat) upbeat. His CR is safe for another year, and it looks like he will be getting third. He hit 200k in 22:46. The leader is going to really, really, hammer to pass the mark to get on the team.
