The shirtless wonder
I still can't fathom any biological reason why being an athlete would reduce the risk of kidney damage from NSAIDs.
I'm not a doctor nor a biologist so I can't fathom how it would cause damage other than advice given by Trent.

I believe Trent linked or posted some pretty specific information on how NSAIDs + dehydration can cause kidney damage.

What is the general consensus for taking Advil for aches and pains when it's not during a race? I think I use Advil sparingly enough--probably take 1 pill every other month or so--but since my mother has kidney disease, maybe I should not take it at all.
Which is why I said "other than advice given by Trent." My point is that I personally do not have the background knowledge necessary for these sorts of things so I have to rely on expertise of others (filtered through my personal bullshit filter).
