As I was listening to the radio the other day, the blaring contradiction between the lyrics and the screaming falsetto just made me laugh out loud
"Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk, Im a womans man: no time to talk."
Bee Gees - such manly men.

| Blasphemy. The Bee Gees are awesome. There is no contradiction. Their falsettos are their way of saying, "We're so bad, we can sing in tune an octave higher than anyone other men alive. Now excuse us while we get some more p--n t--g." |

Elton John's falsetto in his golden days was the shiznit.
He can't hit it anymore, which he blames cocaine and weed for.
He sounds so strange to me now. |

Agreed. The chorus on "Tiny Dancer" just isn't the same. I imagine he doesn't even do "Crocodile Rock" anymore. Cocaine and weed, yes, but I'm sure some of that is just age.
Some singer's pipes age well, and some don't. EJ is one who hasn't. Robert Plant's is one who's lost a of range, for example. However, he still maintains a rough, smoky quality that is entirely cool-sounding and fits the music. McCartney still sounds golden -- he tore into "Helter Skelter" on the last tour like he was still 26. |

Ennay, thanks for the inspiration. This morning's drive-time playlist consisted of:
"Stayin' Alive" "Night Fever" "More Than a Woman" "Jive Talkin' " "You Should Be Dancing" "If I Can't Have You (Count Da Money 2007 Remix)
If only I had worn a button-down shirt so that I could fully expose my chest hair. Aside from that, my car was groovin'. |
