With registration opening today, I thought it would be okay to start the 2016 thread.

I have a BQ-20 from last year's Marine Corps Marathon so I'll be registering later today.

Who else is planning to run next year?

      mikeymike

Still mulling it over. It was 98 degrees on the day the BAA emailed to remind me that registration opened today and I was feeling old and in a foul mood to begin with. At that point (a week ago) I was a solid "no effing way."

        I'm feeling better today.

I'll give it a few days and decide. I'll probably do it, if only so I don't feel left out on Patriots day.

        Runners run

        Mostly harmless

I have BQ-3:21 so I hope to get in for the the first time.

"It doesn’t matter how often you do it or how much you accomplish, in general, not running is a lot easier than running." - Meb Keflezighi

Thanks for starting this again Julia. You did a great job last year and it had a ton of information on it.

I have a BQ 5:16 and can't register till Friday, but I plan on doing it again.

Not sure what happened, but cant delete this.

                I'm in.  I'm BQ - 15:08 so I'll be registering on Wednesday.

                xhristopher

I'm in as well. This will be #6. I run too slowly (BQ - 15:16) to sign up today so must wait until Wednesday.

Since this is a local race for me I'm of the mindset that I'll keep running it until I don't get in, can't run it, or am burned out from it. I enjoy the process of preparing for races just as much as racing them. The process of preparing for Boston sustains me through the winter.

I'm planning to if they'll have me.... only :58 under for me so I wont know until the 24th or so.

I think two years ago, you had to be like 100 seconds under and last year was 62 seconds under...

There's a website out there that has an ongoing statistical analysis trying to predict the cut time... one of the big assumptions is that the appetite of qualifiers to register doesn't change, so the same percentage of qualifiers from the feeder races will register... I wont spoil the results specifically, but suffice it to say, if the prediction is correct, I'll be watching it.

Thanks Julia for starting the thread!  Hopefully I'll be able to register on Friday and will definitely be my first if I do.  I will be looking forward to hearing all the advice and tips from the veterans.

                          Thanks Julia.

Gonna give it a go.  May never have another chance since I seem to be falling apart

First time qualifier, patiently waiting for next Monday so I can register.

The Phoenix has risen! Recovered from my injury, and kickin' serious asphalt once again!

Just registered. I missed the early registration window two weeks ago -- oops. Was at Burning Man.

I'm not 100% sure I'll actually go this time. After 11 in a row... well, it's just kind of not that exciting anymore. OTOH, I hate to end the streak. Possibly it will be a goal race; I'll see how the fall goal races go.

+1.  Except I'm impatiently waiting Smile.
