PolePole (pole-y, pole-y) means slowly, slowly, an apt description of how I run, and also a reminder to myself that it is the way to lasting success in this running thing. Smile

I HATE walking in a race for that very reason. Within seconds of stopping my legs seem to go "oh, we're done...cool!" Getting them moving again is often very difficult. No

Wonder if you played some folks at my work. Know one coworker logged over 340 days in that game. (insane!)

Possibly. One of my co-workers was ranked number one in the world (across all servers) for a long time. I, however, was not nearly as good as he was.

Mine is originally based on a Simpsons icon used on HL and KDX. Eventually, I moved to something similar modal but it had an extra consonant. The name modal is probably in reference to my nature.

And here I thought your screen name was a contraction made up from your (real) first and and last names.

Mine comes from an online game I used to play called Dark Age of Camelot. In that game, my character used to deliver beatings with a wooden bo staff. He was named, appropriately, Bonkin Noggins. It's been a screen name of mine for years now in many games and fora.

Dude. In the winter of 2005, I went through a two-month period of hard core DAOC addiction. I quit the day I spent an entire weekday playing, starting at 8 in the morning ... and at 4 the next morning was still playing.

Same thing happens to me when I have to "suspend" a run do to going to DUMPCON-1. Hard to get going again, especially if it's a speed workout.

Well, it's sort of like that also, which is why I dropped one of the consonants to make it less obvious.

Pretty lame but its a 5 digit username assigned to me in graduate school back in 1995. First 3 letters are my initials. Last two are random.

For some odd reason, the username is always available.

Chaloo. I got my dog at the time of the Taco Bell commercials with the Chiwawa ordering chalupas. Well one day I left my taco bell and my dog in the car together for 30 seconds. I guess it only take a dog 30 seconds to eat 3 chalupa's. From then I we called her Chaloo, short for chalupa. I just stole it from her for my screen name.
I ran. I ran until my muscles burned and my veins pumped battery acid. Then I ran some more.

Heh. That's a loaded question that I could expound upon at great length due to my vast experience in this arena. Suffice it to say, it's tricky, because running faster also speeds up the very process you are trying to slow down / stave off. So you have to settle in to that ideal pace (I call it OBMPP: Optimal Bowel Movement Prevention Pace) that will give you the greatest chance of making it to safety.
