Search function for courses on new workout? (Read 697 times)

Currently, if you run/bike on a course in your area that you didn't create, you have to find it first and then copy it to add it to your list of courses if you want to use it in a workout. Adding the functionality to search for a course from the new workout form itself would be a pretty convenient feature. Keep up the great work! Really love the site! Pebs

Pebs, Are you referring to searching for maps created by other people? If that's the case, it's quite hard (although no impossible) to do. It might be more convenient to allow you to type in a new course without having to create it first. Then you can go back and add a map to it. I shouldn't make all these suggestions because it ultimately means more features to add Tongue eric Smile
Yes, that's exactly what I was talking about. My wife has just taken up cycling and she's mapped out a few courses. I've been riding with her on the weekends in addition to my normal weekly rides and I can't add the workout until I copy her map over to mine. Thought that it might be easier (for me anyway Smile ) to just have some type of a search engine in the courses section of the form. If it's a huge PITA for you, don't worry about it, I'll just have to remember to copy the courses prior to adding a workout.

Pebs, This is probably one of those features that is nice to have, so if you don't mind, I'll put this in the back burner. There are other features that I'm working on that might have a greater impact on your overall experience. eric Smile
Not a problem. And once again this is really a great site!

              Did this ever happen?

I used the search function to find someone's course and copied it to my courses.

Will exporting that as a GPX file allow me to import it to my Garmin as a course?

Just started messing with the course function after getting lost this weekend.

Probably not much of a demand for this type of feature.
