2009 was the hottest CMM on record, with the noontime temp at 90 degrees and humid. Much of the race was in the high 70s and low 80s, with no cloud or tree cover. Prior to that, the hottest year was 2001, with the noontime temp of 88 degrees and humid (first marathon I ever ran).
I like the thread title, nashvile sounds like a great adjective. Now to use it in a sentence. Most Nashvillains blame Trent for the weather at CMM, it's usually nashvile.

No offense.
I like to run when/where it is warm.
I signed up for Grandmas this year because I saw Trent's name next to it on the Maniac calendar.
Ultima tastes like failure.
We've Got Big Hills
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
Perhaps. Hard for say yet. I do like the idea of visiting a brewhouse.
Depends on my travel planning. We shall see. Interestingly, there seems to be absolutely NOTHING to double with (so far) on 6/20 unless I want to go pretty far into Candida.
BTW, that's sort of my birthday weekend (official birthday the following tuesday).
We could put on a marathon the next day. What do we need, 5 starters... ?
Do not attempt.
And a website.

5 starters, 3 finishers.... advertised at least a month ahead of time. Results must be published somewhere.
If you want it in the calendar, for to please make a little website. I'm tired of entries that link to nothingness.
Ok then, fat ass.

Who are you calling fat ass?
I can't justify spending $110 to run a marathon that might be really really hot after training through the freakin' Indiana tundra winters again.
I'm sitting out CMM this year. Marriage changes the ability to travel as often is something that I noticed.
And I agree with A1 - Belmont has the long hill. For people who don't have the ability to train on the course, mile 3, mile 7, mile 17, mile 19 are all stupid big hills to be prepared for.
In my opinion though, 17 is the big kahuna that can really kill you (or tear apart your calf) while mile 19 just makes you want to die.
But oh yea, good luck.
This is just a training thread, not a race thread.
Strange thing about Belmont is that it climbs both on the out and back trips. Dude.
Since I live in Nashville and my office is the building right in front of the starting line, I run this one every year. When it is HOT, I just slow down and enjoy the suffering.
It was nice when I lived a mile from the start. But now that I live 5 hours from the start...by car...and it's gone up from paying 75 bucks my first year to $110 now - I'm content with running a full in the fall in Indy.
and you can run those two for about $140. That's even lower than the $145 expo price for CMM.
