Meh.
To be honest, I really enjoy fast food ... but I only eat it about once a month (if that). I love love love the taste of a mcdonalds quarter pounder and fries and a coke ... usually eaten after a 20 miler. Mmmmmmm... |

| I'm not into french fries, unless I have hot sauce to dip them in. As for burgers, every now and I'll get a McDonald's burger, no cheese. My weakness from McDonalds is the BBQ chipotle chicken wrap (grilled)...oh, and the choc. chip cookies. They are very dangerous! |

But where did they get the idea? I know they were doing that as early as the early 90s in the UK.

My boss once gave one of my co-workers (for his birthday) a large pizza with everything on it - and then decorated it with a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts and then a pound of peanut M&Ms. Most everyone was thoroughly disgusted - but John looked like he had died and gone to heaven.
Just wondering if this was on his resume under the "Fantasy" section.
At one of my old jobs (mainframe dude), there was this employee who'd eat 2 foot long subways subs packed out and a mega huge salad! He was well over 500LB. |

I'm with Mandy.
This stuff only tastes good to you because:
1. Your taste buds have been bombarded by a steady stream of industrially processed crap, which needs extreme levels of added flavor enhancers to make up for its total lack of quality.
2. You've been bombarded by advertising that manipulates your emotions to make this "food" seem desirable. Advertising works -- why else would they spend so much money on it?
You don't have to take my word for it. Go gold turkey for a few months and then try to eat a baconator. You'll see what I mean. |

what is a gold turkey ?
MTA - I actually like the taste of some of these 'industrially processed crap' and I usually change to a different channel during commercials. |

Heh...I did strict low carb for over 3 years. When I would have a free day the crap still tasted good, I just didn't physically crave it nearly as bad. But I really looked forward to those days--except for how godawful I'd feel afterwards...just like a hangover/ |

Buffalo Wild Wings Bar & Grille was offering deep-fried cheeseburgers on their menu at one point earlier this year. I don't know if they still do or not. They were pretty nasty. |

| I'm actually shocked that the calorie counts aren't higher. I read an article a while back indicating that ordering a grilled salmon, steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes at an eating establishment was like 1,800 cals and just TONS of fat. WHY! Why does this have to be like this? Now whenever I go out to eat I just automatically assume (unless I order everything plain and don't eat the whole portion) that no matter what I order (if it is a dinner place too) that it'll be about 1,800-2,000 cals. For me that means nearly starving all day in order to enjoy my dinner. It pisses me off actually. Why can't eating establishments make meals that are 700 cals or something? |

I have to dissagree with you here!!! I eat VERY VERY healthy. Very little processed food. RARELY eat any fast food, BUT when I do it taste's GREAT!!! As for the commercials , all it does is help my kids decide WHERE they would like to eat (they go for the toys not the food)
