      Not true for some Females.. I ran 34 miles last month and my legs are still pretty firm and muscled up! Didn't loose much definition.

       

       

      Her uterus is definitely going to fall out with that kind of mileage.

       

      And her definitions are loose.

        I haven't read it yet, but T-Nation likes to bash on so many other avenues of fitness.

        I joined a crossfit gym when I couldn't run and would hear or read stuff on how terrible running is for you. OH no don't run, must lift more.  I actually made a point to go for a run after the workout.   T Nation has an article also claiming how terrible CF is, now according to them running is bad?   I'm doomed!   That's it today is my last run and then I'm heading straight for the couch.  Safer to be a sloth.

            I'm thinking this doofus has never been hunting.

                Old , Ugly and slow

                  Why can't lifters and runners get along.

                   

                  I like doing both.

                   

                  I think everyone  should do both.

                   

                  In the old days some lifters ran and Bob Hoffman even wrote books about running.

                  2019  goals   1000  miles  , 190 pounds , deadlift 400 touch my toes

                      It's hard to argue with the "do both" statement. But, I know for me, if I'm crunched for time and since my goal is to be able to run faster, I opt for running over lifting when I have to make a choice.  If I had unlimited free time, I'd make both a priority.

                        I only lift twice a week but I am trying to lift more and only run

                         

                        for health 3-4 days a week.

                         

                        I really like running and I don't care that I will never be that fast again.

                          I can tell who the hardcore broskis are at my gym because they carry around a gallon of water while they lift (that, and the Beats by Dre headphones).  You've got to be doing one killer workout to need that much water.  I do 10 miles on the treadmill and don't go through a 16oz water bottle.  I'm doing it wrong.

                                If anything Being overly bulky and trying to run just don't match. So of course the one side will deride the other and we will all enjoy doing the same in return. We just need to remember that different people define fitness in their own way and leave it at that. As far as extracurriculars to running, I really enjoy rock climbing. The two compliment each other well as running makes you light on the wall and can therefore pull yourself up the wall easier, and climbing improves your lateral stabilizers and core strength. Its a win win.
