I did not go to mine. However, my friend from my hometown, did go, and took about a million pictures... I have NEVER been so freaked out in my entire life, seeing my old classmates, OLD !! Keep in mind, I hadn't seen them in 20 years, and now I'm looking at pictures of them bald, fat, etc. It was the freakiest thing of all time!!! |

My 20th is next year. I already got the invite from Classmates.com.
I am definitely going. Wouldn't miss this one for the world.
By the time the 20 year reunion rolls around you can get a good sense of how everyone turned out. The 10 year can be deceptive because you're still in your 20's. I was in undergrad during my 10 year and didn't go. Can't wait for this one! |

| You should go. I regret skipping my tenth, so I definitely plan on making it to my 20th next year. I don't keep in touch with very many people from my class, so it will be very interesting. I was told that the 10-year was extremely clique-y, so I'm interested to see if that's still the case after another 10 years. Regardless, as long as it's in my hometown, I'll be walking distance from my old house, so drinking will be done. |

You decide for yourself. My 40th will be in a couple of years. We have not had one reunion yet, so I don't expect one. I wonder who is supposed to gt that stuff around. Oh Yeah!!! It's me!! No wonder we never had one. I hate the very idea. |

My 20th is this year, too...coming up next month. I'm going, if for no other reason than to see how time has changed some of the people (and by how much!). The friends you still keep in touch with from HS aren't the interest on that night, it's those others that you haven't seen in 10, 15, 20 years...there could be some interesting transformations!
Plus, a weekend of golf and beer is never a bad thing (as long as I get my run in on Satruday morning). |

I am a GO vote as well. As far as the six pack is concerned... I just bought one at the corner grocery last weekend. 'Sides... you're cute enough not to have to worry about having a six pack for the guys to drink. Yup, no beer goggles necessary for you. |

I vote "Go."
I went to my 30th reunion a couple of months ago. This was my first one, and I went because I got talked into it a week before - I never wanted to go to any of the previous ones, and I had no intention of going to this one.
It was OK... I walked away feeling pretty good about myself as far as how I'm holding up over the years. The good thing about the years going by is that people seem to get away from the "what do you do and how much do you make?" BS and more towards the "How are you, you look great, tell me about the family" kind of conversation.
The turnout was OK. I saw a few guys that I grew up with (around age 5 through high school) and really enjoyed that. Stupid stories abounded. There were the obligatory couple of old girl friends, the one I had the "crush" on (still smokin' hot, by the way), a bunch of guys that I hung out with through HS... and another bunch of people who I wouldn't have remembered on a bet!
... and, I found out that some of the people who ignored me 30 years ago still ignored me now! That's OK too, because I ignored them back. We had nothing in common then, and I guess some things never change.
I guess one thing that I took away from the night was that I don't mind my gray hair so much, because at least I HAVE hair!
I've also found myself to be quite nostalgic over the past few weeks - listening to much more 70's music than I have in a looong time. I guess it's my version of mid-life strife.
Go - once - if you don't like it, it's no big deal. I don't regret not going to my previous reunions, but I'm real glad I took the time to go to this one. |

He is a smooth dude and I would have to agree with his wisdom.

I didn't go to our 10th because I hated high school so much I couldn't stand the thought! Actually, I LIKED the school work, just not the people. I was the nerdy bookworm who got teased a lot. I would love to go to our 30th in 2010 if there is one, because I'm sure I'm much hotter now than most of the women! That would be fun. |
