Oh, backroadrunner is gonna be PISSED!!! She just bought a Toshiba laptop last week for about that price, even though she wanted a Mac. She was having a hard time justifying the higher price. D'oh! |

OOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooohhhh.
Zoom, you can get refurbished macs for around $1k. That's where I got my almost 2-year-old MacBook.
I am going to have to give in and get one of those shiny new Nano's soon. My iPod "classic" is pushing 4 and having some issues. |

| Personally, I think a Mac laptop is great if you aren't on a tight budget and want to drop 2500 bucks on a nice 17" macbook pro and run multiple OS on it. You can get a refurb 13" macbook from apple for 850 in their online store, but you are way better off spending that 850 on the HP of the week at Best Buy. |
