Yeah, but if you sell your stock right before you stop buying Nike products, that may be insider trading. |

Cross branding is cheap (if you shop the bargain rack). And cheap is GOOD!

| Cross branding is the way to go. Unless you are actually sponsored, wearing all one brand comes across as affected. |
| What was the secret, they wanted to know; in a thousand different ways they wanted to know The Secret. And not one of them was prepared, truly prepared to believe that it had not so much to do with chemicals and zippy mental tricks as with that most unprofound and sometimes heart-rending process of removing, molecule by molecule, the very tough rubber that comprised the bottoms of his training shoes. I'm cheap. I usually shop on clearance racks or near-brands for clothing. Right now I have two pairs of Head shorts and tech shirts from Sports Authority, a Hind tech shirt and and Adidas tank top from the clearance rack at Phidippidies. Most of my socks are Pearl Izumi or house brand cycling socks from the bargain bin at REI or Performance. I think the biggest genius in all this has to be Underarmor. Within the last 5 years they somehow convinced the world, across the board, that $50-$75 is a reasonable price for an undershirt. Glad to see Target carrying lower priced tech wear in Champion and Mossimo brands. My most-worn item is a freebie longsleeve tech shirt from the 2007 Radiant Systems Sprint for Cancer. (My sister pointed out - shouldn't it be the sprint against cancer?.)

The best way to avoid coming across as affected is wearing RunningAHEAD shirts. They look great and you'll run faster in them.

I was just joking. I have a lot of Reebok stuff I bought at the outlet store, mixed in with Nike stuff. But I always wear Asics shoes.
I do not own any UA gear. I think it's just really trendy right now and not worth the $. |

Yeah, ask backroadrunner about the tool she used to date who refused to "mix brands." He wasn't athletic, either...but I witnessed the entire Adidas "ensemble" once and about choked trying to suppress my laughter.
I rarely wear less than 3 brands...I mostly just wear what's clean and is the right item for the weather. If what I wear matches it's a complete coincidence (though I may buy a special "outfit" for my first marathon...gotta look good for that race photo). |

I have a UA shirt...it's nice, but I never wear it. Doesn't work on gals with an "hourglass" shape. The bottom wants to creep up to the narrowest part of my waist, leaving my lower belly exposed. Had I abs like Pam's I'd probably be OK with that, but I have abs more like...the Pillsbury dough boy (whoo hoo!). |
