Good luck to you too, Lynn. Since everything's relative, isn't a 50 miler "just a half" for you? Big grin

Len, if you can't make it to the Worthington I'd say there's a fair chance you won't make it to the starting line, either! Wink I think it's less than two blocks from the hotel to the start.

I haven't done this race before, but I'm thinking of parking on the east side of downtown to avoid the traffic at the start finish area, and to avoid being stuck when I'm trying to leave (although since I'm doing the 50k and I'm slow there's a good chance everything will be open when I'm ready to leave). There are parking garages near the bookstore and the Bass Performance Hall; I think I'll park around there.

My wife is going to be there with me, and she plans to watch the start then go sit in the car for about an hour and half and read or something. Then she's going to make her way to the finish to watch me complete my first half; so I've got to figure out the best way to accomodate her needs. We should be in FW around noon Friday.

Thanks, Marshall. Hadn't really thought about parking yet - but good info for me since I usually park on the west side.

Len. The parking lots near Bass are only a couple blocks away. Easy walk.

There's also a bookstore (as Marshall mentioned) and a Starbucks right there. Not to mention dozens of other restaurants and shops (no idea what will be open that early in the morning though.

Thanks for the parking info... I plan on getting to the expo as soon we get in town, then driving the course if that's possible. Then she's got her own agenda for the remainder of the day, mostly involving shopping. Roll eyes

What the ape ^ said. Good luck guys/gals! Make us proud. I don't know what that means, but I just thought I'd throw it in there as a feeble attempt at motivation.

I suggest getting there early.

My experience last year:
It was fairly crowded, but I didnt feel all jammed as I did at Whiterock. Each race had it's own tent for pre/post goodies. (I plan on bringing 2-30 gallon trash cans to stock up. Big grin ). You have to wear the correct bib to enter.

I parked in this garage last year.

It was not bad, but there was a line getting in and leaving the garage. I did the 10k so departing is probably easier for the longer races since things will probably thin out more by then. The garage has a elevator but you still might have to take a few stairs Smile.

I just found out we're staying at the Hyatt Place DFW west in Hurst. I'm mildly irritated with the love of my life for booking a room that far away, but she says the rate she got was worth it. It looks to be a 15-20 minute drive. She told me if I didn't like it, I could get up at 2:30 am and drive from here. She's mean.
