Both hypotonic (think lots of water, with too few carbs) and hypertonic (a little water, with too many carbs) increase the amount of time it takes your stomach to empty. Gatorade is formulated as an isotonic solution for this reason, which I guess brings us back to: drink the Gatorade.

Fat also inhibits gastric emptying, which is why you shouldn't really eat any as part of your post-workout meals.
