We've Got Big Hills
I need to go for a run.
But running is stupid.
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.

Yeah, are you injured? Your log seems to suggest something happened abruptly a couple of weeks ago?
Mentally injured. 185 days in a row, 1500 miles and PRs at every distance but one for a goal marathon that slapped me with a hot day. I will soon be ramping up for several Fall marathons and I needed a break.
Oh, and my 17-month old son hurt my leg, but that is improving.

MTA: I think you mispelled Fail, you had 2 "L's", I am a good friend to point that out.
I may have to come out to "pace" your Leadville now just so I can trip you as you round the lake.
you should come out.

Do not attempt.

None have accepted the challenge...

Back to the "ultra" talk folks. The above link was a great read. Any more inspiring tales? (about ultra running! Before you go off on another tangent.)
I have one.
.
My first ultra had a 50k or 50m option that you could choose up until the last minute. I thought I was being wise when I chose the 50k option so as not to get in over my head; but I agonized long and hard.
I'll never forget how mad I was at myself when I got to mile 29 or so. I was just swearing a blue streak at myself for having made that stupid choice. Other people around thought maybe I was bad at myself for not running up to expectations, but I was just upset at having chosen the wrong distance. I will never again choose to run a 50k when there is a reasonable 50m alternative.
To this day, all my 50 mile per-mile metrics are faster than equivalents in 50k. PR is faster per mile, PW is faster per mile, and average pace over all races is faster for 50m than 50k. Don't ask.
That is really bizarre! Why do you think that is?
Here is one - Strolling Jim 42 miler
wow what an asshole, he locked your keys in your car... that is funny
O' i do have one question on the race report.... did you ever get that red shirt you wanted to much ??
