I was just thinking the other day that if it hadn't been for the drama in the Richard/Nobby/Andy fight threads on CR (not to be confused with C-R) that I got sucked in to - I may not have stuck with running. I actually learned a thing or 2 from those threads. Not from Richard, of course.
I you said you learned something from Richard I would be backing away very very slowly.

Well I read all of this. I don't have anything useful to say I just want credit for that. Things seem to be off to a bit of a rocky start. I figure one of these days we'll all look back at this post, shuffle our feet in the dirt, laugh awkwardly, and change the subject.

Sorry Cindy but I figured that since the movie came out in 1986 you'd be OK with that. And, yes, I am sorry to tell you that that scene was not realistic. As well as the rest of the movie.
Have you ever seen the Movie The Final Countdown? This is a movie where the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz travels through a time warp to December 7, 1941, and is in a position to prevent the Pearl Harbor attack. That movie was far, far more realistic than Top Gun, as far as aircraft carrier operations are concerned. Seriously.
I didn't know Sideways Smile was a fan of the naval aviation cinema.
