A young lady I was talking to mention she pays upwards of $15 for a drink at clubs. Shocked Confused

I don't drink alcohol at all, or go to clubs, so I don't have any experience with the prices of drinks at clubs, but that price sounds pretty ridiculous. Tongue

I went to a Dropkick Murphys concert a couple of weeks ago and paid $12 for 24oz of beer. I had 3. I was pretty buzzed. That's not the point. The point is, drinks are damn expensive.

The price is right. But I know the story is phony.

It was the "she pays" part that tipped me off.

If she was a looker she wouldn't have to pay, would she pass the Jersey doorman test?

LOL...that's good.

For $12 I can buy a 12 pack at the grocery store and drink with the neighbors on the back patio...of course as married folk, the patio scene isn't quite as exciting as the club scene.

Going rate for a beer in my neck of the woods is about $5.00, which is ridiculous.

Buying a case of beer to enjoy at my leisure with friends costs about $30-$35. Even at the high end, this comes to $1.45 per beer.

I'm no economist, but... I think I'll stay on the deck with my friends.

I don't drink liquor, but I routinely see $9-$12 drinks on the drink menus at restaurants. Unreal.

Yikes...I don't think I paid that much in US dollars at clubs in London...but that was like 15 years ago. I think maybe I was paying $5-8, at most.

I think $8 would be my limit...and it would have to have a lot of booze, like a martini or Long Island.

I would think a drink should be around $8 for top shelf, but I guess it depends where you are.

I believe it. Especially if it's an area like NYC. $6 for cokes that come in tiny little 5 oz glasses suck, too.

Fixed.
I suppose you've got to factor in the "ambiance" of the club and the type of liquor. What city?
I will spend perhaps $10-12 at one of Pittsburgh's finest restaurants for a well-made Martini. And I will have one. Because I am sensible enough to have preloaded with a cocktail at home and to have drinks in the fridge at home for later.
But I also agee w/ JK.

$3.00 for a bottle of water at an air show (which wouldn't allow you to bring your own cooler in). It was a dangerous hot day so they made a mint off the crowd.
