I'm a HS sophomore, and I have the first meet of the year tomorrow. We're running a 3000m (weird I know) And I have no idea how to pace myself. I suppose I should just run it like a two mile, but I've never run the two mile enough to get solid with my pacing. For a 5k I pull about 5:55 pace and I seriously lack on the speed side of things... So if anyone's got some strategy I would really really appreciate it!

My guess is you should aim for about 5:30 pace, or about 82/83 at the 400. Most likely though it will go out faster than that since it's a high school race.
