Cyclone in Myanmar, possibly 100,000 dead. Cholera, starvation, and a military dictatorship which will not allow humanitarian aid to the victims...
But first, our lead story...

It's just another sad example of infotainment, journalism is so...yesterday. It's obviously an absolutely horrible situation for everyone involved, but the pictures of the kids are absolutely heartbreaking. They could be on their own, and the thought of those "generals" refusing/stealing international aid makes me want to throw up.
Count your blessings, and say a prayer for those poor souls. |

I don't care much for the 24-hour "news" cycle. Personally, I've seen a lot of cyclone coverage, which I find heartbreaking and frustrating at the same time.
Along with that, I've seen various talking heads discuss ad nauseum their private theories about impeding doom, economic collapse, and global catastrophies of various kinds; each discussion intended to sensationalize and scare the public. Make no mistake about it, we live in the age of propoganda, and the few real journalists left are drowned out by the ever-more-shrill mob.
Uh-oh! I just heard California is 70% more likely to have a major earthquake this year than last year. AAAARRRGGGGHHHH!!! Run for the hills! What about our property values? Imagine the gas prices! |
