FWIW, all of a sudden this afternoon my log set itself to metric. Miles were km's, and the weather displayed in degrees C. (I didn't know it did that! Cool!)
If this happened to anyone else, you can switch it back by going to Options --> Locale Settings --> Default Unit System.
