I look my best blurry!
Hey....Sidney Crosby was our player first! He was born in Canada, and learned how to play hockey in Canada. That is the reason he is so good! I will admit, our Canadians played like peewee hockey players 3rd period, but at least they picked it up when it mattered. The Americans are just disappointed that they got 2 silvers for hockey. Boohoo.
I really was happy for Sid and for Canada. That was a great ending for Canada. No tears here. I love how the Olympics brings us all together. Cheesy but true.
A Saucy Wench
Today. Today was definitely the dumbest long run ever - possibly topping my first marathon training run where I was injured for 3 months and then 3 weeks before the race got up off the couch, trudged 20 miles and returned to the couch to await the race.
Mistake 1 - I usually max out at about 2 drinks in a day. Yesterday I had 2 stouts in the afternoon and then went to a gala where I had 4-5 glasses of wine and danced so much I had salt stains on my clothing.
Mistake 2 - When I awoke severely hungover I did postpone the run for a few hours to try to rehydrate but even though my tongue still felt like leather and my tummy was doing the cha-cha - I still didnt give up on the long run.
Mistake 3 - Between illness and falling down the stairs my running has been shit for the last 4 weeks so why was I doing a long run anyway?
Mistake 4.- I had heard there was a running trail around the hilly neighborhood so I decided to find it. But forgot to consult googlemaps first. So I started "exploring" including up the hill that climbs 200 ft in <1/3 mile.
Mistake 5 - By the time I was done with the hills I was DONE and parched but did I call a hilly 6 mile run good and head home? No. Did I head directly to water? NO I thought if I ran through the neighborhood where friends live someone would be home. No.
Mistake 6- I was so thirsty I actually considered drinking from the mossy drainage ditch that contained pesticide run off from the nursery. But did I change my route to find water. No.
Mistake 7 - By 8 miles I had the death march feeling. I was nauseous and miserable. But my pace wasnt really slowing THAT much. So I kept going ignoring all possibilities to shorten the route. Finally got water at mile 13 and chugged.
By mile 15 I was in serious trouble. Came home. Ate and drank, showered, went to bed. Woke up 30 minutes later, threw up. Blahhhhh. Not sure if I was underhydrated or over hydrated. Could have been either despite the parched mouth.
I have become Death, the destroyer of electronic gadgets
