Need inspiration?: try Doc Whitney (Read 429 times)

This sport doesn’t lack for inspiring figures, but in case you needed another (though pretty sure mgerwn has mentioned him before), George Doc Whitney was at the 5K I ran this weekend.

Doc drove down to CT from VT that morning (9am race start). Back in January he DNF’d a 5k where he fell, hit his head, lost consciousness. But, he didn’t quit, kept at it, and made a comeback for this race.

Finished first in his age group.  Beat 49 other runners.

    Doc is 93 years old.

Orange fishing hat, two different colored socks, and a perma-smile. That dude is pretty awesome.

Love to see those stories....that'll be us one day, for sure.

Don't make excuses for why you can't get it done.

Focus on all the reasons why you must make it happen.
