I hate them. They're a bunch of asshats who can all bite my smooshy, pasty rump!

I have been trying to arrange flights to and from LA in early Aug. to go hang with friends for a few days. Initially the plan had been to go Thurs. - Mon., but then we discovered that flights were cheaper on Weds., so that would mean an extra day of fun, which is bonus.

So I have been waiting for my one friend's DH to get paid so that we could try to arrange to be on the same flights. BAD idea! Now the rates have shot up literally overnight (like $150 round-trip) and the flights out and return I was most eager to book are GONE (of course). And now Thurs. is cheaper than Weds to leave...

So, for those of you who are more seasoned on the way of flight rates, is it likely that rates will go down before early Aug.--or do I risk not finding flights at all?

Ugh. Now it looks like I will spend more for less time with my friends.

Sad

Airlines suck. I have had so many bad experiences with airlines that I wish I could travel everywhere by car.

They are so unpredictable in every action and usually so bloody ineficcient that I feel like strangling every single member of their staff.
Run more.

I hear you on the unpredictable thing. I used to not be a fan of NWA, but on my trip to and from LA things went absolutely flawlessly, so they have been redeemed. American can now bear the brunt of my wrath, though. 2 of my friends faced horrid delays on AA, and this was BEFORE the recent terrorist issues. There is no reason for flights to be delayed for 3 or more hours when weather is good. Apparently AA offered these gals no explanations. And one was coming to-and-from TX, the other to-and-from Chicago, so there wasn't any obvious connection between their routes.

I do like the little regional carrier I have flown, though, Midwest. They serve chocolate chip cookies that they bake-on board. Smells wonderful! Nice, wide leather seats on all flights, too...that's for coach.

Boy, I bet your airlines are much better these days...
It's all fun and games until the flying monkeys attack.
