I was just looking over my running log and I realized that I have been running for just over 6 years (first 5K was March 9th, 2002 which I did NO training for so I count that as my start date) and that I have dropped exactly 10 minutes off my 5K time.

My first 5K was finished in 30:16 and I was toast when I was done. My legs hurt, I couldnt breathe and when I sat down to take off the timing chip I literally couldnt get up on my own. All I wanted to do after that was eat something and go home and lie down.

Jump forward 6 years to today. My most recent 5K (well, actually my last two 5Ks both came in at the exact same time) was 20:16, and after it I was ready to go run a few more miles. I was tired and out of breath right at the end but after a few minutes rest I was ready to go again.

Just shows what a few years can do for you. Big grin

Nice job, Jeff. Keep up the great work. I'm hopeful that after six years for me I'll be down to where you're at on the 5-K scene!
