Consistently Slow

50 k with creek crossings and 2 hour drive from home.

My knees dislikes technical trails. My hands dispise temps < 55F.

Run until the trail runs out.

Well a treadmill 5K definitely sounds better than Mt Cheaha to me..

A treadmill 50K, I'm not so sure.  Is there a middle ground? Smile

Treadmill 5K's suck. And I'd rather be outside in weather that warm.

Also, for some reason I keep thinking this thread is about fish.

You clearly don't live in the Upper Midwest...32 would be positively balmy!

That depends on what your definition of "is" is.

Seriously, I would do just about anything to run outside these days. Including drive 4 hours round-trip.

If it's not sub-zero temps and/or windchill it's 6" or more fresh snow, ice under that, narrow shoulder replaced by 3' or taller snowbanks.  They're predicting we have all-time record ice development on Lake MI by the end of the week.  And here I was thinking that we were going to get off relatively easy this year, at least compared to last.  But Feb. is seriously making up for a "mild" Jan.  My kid's had 7 snow days this year and now has to make up 1.  My guess is he'll be making up 2-3 before this season's over.

I wish we could.  After the past 2 Winters we are seriously starting to contemplate moving someplace warm in the future.  Once DS is on his own (potentially in just 4.5 years, but closer to 10 if we don't abandon him if/when he attends college locally) there will be a lot less keeping us here, assuming there are mechanical engineering jobs in NM or AZ.  I'm to the point where I no longer simply tolerate Winter...I downright loathe it and it's easily a solid 4-5 month season here.

Go for the 50k And enjoy the heat wave!

                      Best Present Ever

I ran a trail 50k weekend before last  - temps in the upper teens to start, upper 30s to finish, two creek crossing with wet feet. It was considered by all who ran to be nearly ideal conditions.

I did not want the 50 k to be to appealing with creek crossings.
