I find them incredibly tiny. Most people I know size up, at least with the women's sizing. I don't know about the men's.
I think it depends on the style. I can't wear the fitted ones that are labeled Bodyfit, or that are described as body hugging. They're too small, and if I size up, the proportions are wrong. I do run in the travel tee shirts, though. I love them and can wear my usual size. I'm wearing one in my profile pic.

I'll have to check what I have. I think they are bodyfit. Though I'm short, when I size up the arms aren't too long, a problem I often have.
