First ultramarathon - Pisgah 50k (Read 1083 times)

#2867

I ran my first race longer than a marathon a bit over a week ago, the Pisgah 50k. It takes place in a 13,500+ acre forest in New Hampshire. It was a lot of fun; I think I might try to work out getting back there next year for the 23k. I managed to place 5th of 90 or so people. Hmmm. You'd better drink extra water, starting NOW. Big grin

Congratulations! I read the one article and will read the others too! Very impressive. Smile

          You'll ruin your knees!

Well, congratulations, Ultramarathoner! Glad you enjoyed it and tasted what is beyond the 26.2. The small format and comraderie is quite refreshing! Lynn B

Yep, it is up (and down) Mt. Pisgah. It wasn't quite that brutal; there were some places that were a lot steeper than I'm used to since I mostly run roads (and a car could definitely not have done all of the inclines even without the trees and roots and rocks) but I wouldn't classify it as much past "New England Rolling Terrain"... It was certainly well worth doing.

Pretty darn impressive first ultra. I dunno, I think I'd call that area a little more than just rolling hills! Well done!
