DAMN!

A former Georgia Tech quarterback, just hired to help football players adjust to campus life, was arrested for driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, open container and hit and run on Tuesday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Joe Hamilton was arrested after a hit and run accident near the campus just after midnight after police pulled him over on Techwood Drive.

The newspaper reported "the arresting officer said he smelled alcohol on Hamilton's breath, and asked him if he had been involved in an accident. Hamilton admitted that he had."

"The matter is under investigation. An appropriate action will be taken upon completion of the investigation," said Tech athletics director Dan Radakovich in a release.

Hamilton quarterbacked the Jackets in the late 90s and led them to a share of the ACC championship in 1998.

Tech hired Hamilton in April as the assistant director of player personnel; assigning him to help with on-campus recruiting visits and advising players.

"If they have a problem they don't want to go to their coach about or the head coach, I ought to be able to help them," Hamilton told the AJC when his hiring was announced.

Well, all he needed to do was get in a fight and throw in some kind of sexual/domestic dispute with a woman and he pretty much would have covered everything not to do as a scholarship college athlete. Maybe that was the plan all along -- an anti-example. Tongue
