Food and water come first, always. Once I stop sweating, I take a shower, then I eat more food and water.

Eventually I'll record my workout. Usually within 30 minutes to an hour of finishing the run, rarely more than a few hours after the run, never more than a few days after.

The first thing I do is drink something for recovery like gatorade, accelerade, chocolate milk, coke, or kool-aid (whatever we have really).

Drink a recovery drink, or eat oatmeal if it's a morning run, followed by coffee ( am only) while doing this, log my miles, get depressed when I see everyone else's log.... Black eye

If evening run, drink water, or protein shake, log, shower, cook dinner, eat again, wind down with tv or RA forums, sleep.

Invariably bathroom comes first. Unless I did that during the run. Then I get something to drink, upload my garmie data, then hit the shower.

During the week, I run at work, at lunchtime. I like to cool down a bit, so I come back to my desk and log my miles here. Then I shower, then I eat lunch.

On weekends runs: stop off at the local coffee shop and get an Americano with an extra shot, then (depending on the time of year) hop into our Walmart pool and float around for awhile. Then I log my miles here.

Make sure that I kiss DH for watching the kids while I run. Kiss kids for not driving Dad nuts while I ran. Make recovery drink for everyone and refill fuel belt and give it to the two year old because he loves to wear it and drink out of the little bottles. Stretch, shower, eat.

or

Glare at DH that kids are still in jammies, covered in some sort of food slime, and crying. Put everyone in a time out. Leave and go to Starbucks. Evil grin

Grab some water, head outside and water my vegetables and herbs while I am cooling down, hit the shower, eat a little cereal and then log my miles.

Depending upon urgency, bathroom may be first stop.Wink

In summer, I may grab something to drink and something light like fruit to eat, then go back outside for my barefoot in lawn drills. In winter, I'll have some hot cocoa and maybe a sandwich or a full meal.

After my body has re-equilibrated with room temperatures, I'll take hot shower, sometimes followed by cold water on legs.

If I didn't already eat my meal (most of my runs are before meals anyway), I'll eat again after showering.

Might watch news or whatever on tv. THEN I'll head upstairs to turn on computer, check e-mail, forums, and log my data. My recoveries are much better if I keep upright and vertical as well as moving for a bit after my run, rather than immediately sitting at computer. Or at least it seems that way. YMMV.

Usually, water first, then log my miles, shower, then eat, unless I took longer than expected running. In that case then I shower first and log my miles while eating, or worst case eat on the way to work and log my miles when I get to work. (shh - don't tell my boss) Wink

1) Log run first (have iPod Touch, so easy to do with Wifi when I get home)(unless I really have to use the bathroom!)

2) Bathroom

3) Then eat or shower depending on how hungry and/or sweaty I am

Heh, today I had to have DH bring me a big towel at the door before I did anything else--I got caught in a downpour and was SOAKED (while wearing brand new shoes...*sigh*). A mile from home a woman stopped in the middle of the street, rolled down her window, and kindly asked if I needed a ride. Every time I think every person out driving is an asshat I am reminded that there really are some good peeps out there. *warm fuzzy* Smile

During the week I run at lunch so I stretch and grab a shower to not offend my co-workers (more than usual Cool)

When running at home, I usually run later in the day so I stretch a little and grab a nice cold beer from the fridge, prop up my feet, and enjoy the moment.
