I am a couple days late to the dinner party, but thought I would pop in anyway. I am a recent refugee. I guess that is my technical term here. Smile

I just wanted to say that I am really excited about being a part of this community. The log system is awesome. Everyone seems really nice, and I like the site in general.

So thank you all for welcoming all of us to your site. I hope the influx only continues to make this a great community to post in. I know if I were a long time member and a bunch of new people came in all the sudden, I would be nervous as well.

The groups are great too. I felt comfortable enough to start an ex-smokers group, even though I am even a shy person on the internet.

So thanks again all the RA people. You have all built an awesome community in which I am glad to be absorbed into.

... I don't know ... but we all love figgy pudding (so that Christmas carol says!).

Happy holidays!

ps I've just passed the after dinner port along the dinner table.

Thanks Niel for the port...you've been hoarding it down on your end and it smells divine! I'm feeling a ton better about this family and with Claire and Jake "gorilla man" dropping in ...well all things are in their place. I think I better pass the port on down or I'll start to cry.

I'm Kooky and...well...I'm Kooky.

I'm a 36 year old Brit living in New Zealand with a man that I married after a chance liason in an internet sex chat room. I have four kids by three different fathers, a Grandchild that was due yesterday but may be coming today, a perplexing sense of sarcasm and a horribly shady past. I am currently training my elite stress fracture to be 'The best, of the best, of the best' and I am a high achiever in all fields particularly, breeding, art, message board posting and ego stroking. I am Scout's older sister and I blame our internet parents - Kirsten & Lynn - for everything.

It's going to be fun having more people to play with. Welcome to all the CR runners and thank you to Jeff for starting this thread. I have been intimidated by the thought of saying too much on this issue in case I said it the wrong way. I didn't want to say it wrong because Eric deserves for us to represent this site as it really is. Eric is quite simply a hero to those of us in the RA community, for so many reasons and then some.

Jeff, Mikey I must haul my non-running arse over to that 2000 mile group sometime. I miss hanging with the big guys Wink I try to get out of my 'User' Group as often as possible but I get embalmed by all the pornography that I 'they' post there. Roll eyes

Now I'm knackered as I only got a few hours sleep last night and it's looking very likely that my Grandchild might pop out very soon so I need to get in a few hours ASAP.

Merry Christmas Dotcomrades.

If she doesn't, I have some sparkling grape juice right here... And some virgin egg-nog is in that carton over there. The spiked stuff is in the bowl...

The thing that I am most afraid of with this large influx of people from CR is that our message boards will get mean or nasty. I'm not trying to say that the PEOPLE from CR are mean and nasty. But there WAS a bit of a culture of trolling and sometimes flaming there that I didn't enjoy at all when I was a CR member.

I was a CR lurker for many moons before finally posting a few years back. Just when I started feeling warm and fuzzy, a CR patriarch jumped up and bit me. It's nice to read how many RA-ers say this place is uplifting, positive... I'm very happy to find this place, and hope to post more often. Blush

I'm very sorry to see that my name is nearly the same as a RA original; sorry, Thunder. But, honestly: your name denotes speed and power, while mine, well, ... yeah. Undecided

I'll get to profiling, and all the other cool stuff here asap.

    Thanks for letting us in.

Thunderthighs, we'd rather have you around than that other boob, Thunder. And don't let him try to convince you that he's fast. It'll just go to his head. Wink

Love the profile! Welcome, S.J.Y. (till I trust ya'll)! We have resident Vikings that you'll want to get to know...several good groups that you should fit right into...a natural! I look forward to your active participation here at RunningAhead.
