Hawt and sexy
I'm touching your pants.
No worries at all - I just wanted to address the comment from a later poster who incorrectly claimed the reason we sold the stability shoe was financially driven.
I appreciate the positive feedback and also the effort it takes to make the haul out to Naperville. As always, if the shoes don't work out for your son, bring them back in and we'll make it right.
The one point I forgot to mention, and it seems to get lost in all the barefoot discussions, the most important thing you can do is run with proper form. Here's my simple advice, no matter what type of shoe you run in: make sure you are taking around 180 steps per minute and try to land with your foot parallel to the ground. If you can master this, you will be well on your way to less injury and you will be able to wear a wider range of shoes.
If I could go back and do my master's thesis over again, I would have focused on running form and cadence. I think it would get a few more reads from the general public than "The Effects of Shoe Mass Distribution on Mechanical and Physiological Responses During Distance Running". For some reason I don't get a lot requests from people who want to read that one.
Hope to see you soon!
Kris
Everybody isdifferent, yes. However, it is a misconception that a heavy person lands heavily. Sure, if you weigh 230 pounds, that much weight's gotta go somewhere somehow. But a lot has to do with how you land.
If someone can run in light shoes then they probably should do so. Excess weight is a penalty, particularly when it's located on the end of your leg. (pendulum effect) Even an ounce is significant when racing. However minimilist shoes are not for everyone. I tried and wound up with two severe cases of plantars, plus a stress fracture. When I went to a good cushion shoe my problems disappeared.
Giddyup.
Two cases of plantars is a lot of peanuts.
Ok then.
Ultima tastes like failure.
Brings back memories.
Thanks for bringing that up NA
