| Sports Massage - OUCH! (Read 192 times) |

Recovering from sore shins (shin splints? I don't know) and had a sports massage today to try to release some of my tight muscles... ouch. Ouch. And ouch again. That was seriously painful.
The therapist (who is a runner) said that my muscles were very tight and had knots so bad that she could barely get into them. If I think back over the last 4 weeks of running I can't remember when I last had a decent stretch. I have been pushed for time and a warm up stretch and warm down stretch went by the wayside. She thinks that my overly tight quads, hams and calves probably didn't help my shin problem.
Message - no matter how tight time is, it doesn't take long to stretch your muscles out before and after your run. It will help keep you injury free. Learn from my mistake.
