John McCain just announced he is suspending his campiagn at least until Monday to go back to DC and hear what all Congress is doing about the bailout. Calling for unity and non-partisan politics to get this fixed. He is asking Obama to do the same and believes the President should put a committee together to hash it out which would include both Obama and McCain. Haven't heard response from Obama yet.

Don't you know Ole Miss and Oxford are reeling after hearing the debate probably isn't going to happen. All that money invested, all the volunteers, resheduling classes, changing traffic patterns....that's a big loss to a small college town.

I would think they would reshedule it there...Even the High School football game in Oxford was reschuled to Thursday. Doesn't bother me though...not a big OM fan, and in truth...I think Obama and McCain need to be Senators for the next few days BEFORE candidates.

I am a big Ole Miss fan and I don't see them rescheduling. When I was up there Labor Day weekend there were already areas of campus that were off limits to pedestrians for security reasons...mostly around the venue site. With the debate only 2 days away larger areas of town and campus have been closed to virtually all traffic. With some home SEC games coming up that bring in over 50,000 football fans, the logisitics of holding a debate as well as conducting a football weekend are going to be next to impossible to pull off. I just see Ole Miss and Oxford taking it on the chin for this one.

I'd prefer they pay more attention to the failing economy and all that jazz rather than sit on a stage and try to up one another. That would give me a much better notion of who would make a better POTUS. That's why I hate politics, they don't really care about the important matters, just want to get the power of the office.. Good plan, but, and I'm just going out on a limb here, I'm guessing that it is going to take way past Monday to fix this particular sticky wicket. I'm not sure exactly what you could actually accomplish in such a short period, unless you were mainly interested in just giving the appearance that you actually cared about...

Oh, I get it. Very good then. Carry on.

I think I may end up voting for that Scout fellow after all. That is, provided he ever comes up with a clear plan on rebuilding Alderaan. Fair is fair but the Death Star attack was preemptive. It's our responsibility to rebuild, after all. Hearts and minds and all that jazz.

You know, you might be onto something here. The way things are looking I might just jump onto the Scout bandwagon.

There's a band, at least.

A wagon in front of every home. New campaign slogan.
