Well, there's the 100m men's final, and the women's 10,000m final. But I'm really looking forward to the women's weightlifting, super heavyweight division. Now that should be interesting.

I don't have cable and missed the 100m. It wasn't the finals, though. Only the qualifying rounds. Tyson Gay advanced, running first with 10.22, IIRC.

An interesting thing to note about that race... Shanahan Sanitoa from American Samoa was the best for his area of the Pacific Islands, and he ran a 12.6 which apparently was his personal best. Maybe I should move there in 2012 to guarantee myself a competitive spot at the Olympics. haha

Oh also, not to leave out the USA non-favorites... Darvis Patton and Walter Dix are both moving on to the 100 meter semi finals!

And in other news, Bernard Lagat and Lopez Lomong both made it through to the 1500 meter semi finals.

You missed the most important note! Shalane Flanagan took bronze in the women's 10,000!

I was on my feet waving my arms like a madman.

Yeah, too bad it was on at, what, 2 a.m.? And they didn't even mention it on the morning report--all Phelps, all the time.
Tonight--Women's Marathon. Go Deena!

The Canadians covered it at reasonable hour. I do love the CBC.

Was it live? If not, some one should have there head examined. It was on around 12 am.

She did not know she was in third place because of the people she lapped. When someone is lapped that

should be reuired to run from the third lane.
