I've heard some people say that it affects your warranty, but I've heard about people that still got warranty coverage even though they didn't buy it from an authorized reseller.
There may be no or mininal risk involved, but I guess my point was that for $10 extra, I would go with an authorized reseller. Now, if the price difference were much larger, then it may make a difference.
