I am thisclose to downloading the entire album for $8. I really like their sound...hip-hop + acoustic. Kind of reminds me a little bit of Cake with the horns. They even have a cello. Very unique.

Great song. Zoomy have you heard the rest of the album? I wonder if it's solid all the way through.

Here's another new act with a cello (and violin)...Ra Ra Riot. I saw them a few months back and they do a great live show. Definitely worth checking out for anyone into that sort of thing.

I've only heard the 30 second clips on iTunes, but I like what I hear just from that.

Nice video, there. After a while real instruments are really a nice contrast from so much techno-pop stuff.

Dude starts off able to do silly things like ride his bike with no hands...eventually moves onto world domination and taking out people he doesn't like with high-tech weapons and snooping. Hmmm...reminds me of something.

Might be that, too...I just like the part about taking apart the remote and almost being able to put it back together. I had to take did to urgent care last month when he sliced his thumb open playing with an old DVD player (year and a half before that he was in urgent care when he sliced himself on Christmas Eve messing with a chisel). At any time we have a few non-functional electronics in the garage for autopsy.

Tongue

I downloaded the rest of the album. I really like it. Quite political, though. Don't think a right-leaning person would care for it... Wink

Love the bass, guitar, violins, rhythms, lyrics. Really good stuff.

They play this song all the time around here. It's gotten annoying and overplayed.

The song is about how the youth are the future, and are capable of achieving great things, because of the unique things they've experienced.

One more reason not to listen to the radio. Too many songs over the years have fallen victim to overplay on the radio. I think that's how I've managed to still like this song after a few months...I've only heard it a handful of times since Spring.

Same here. I think I've heard that song like 4 times. I don't listen to music stations on the radio much for that exact reason. Musicians have enough of a challenge in tyring to develop their sound over time to keep it sounding fresh. I still don't know whether the radio killed Linkin Park or Linkin Park killed Linkin Park.

For the record, I didn't ever really like the song anyway. Just not what I care to listen to. So hearing it twice was overplaying in my mind.

There are several decent radio stations around here. All I listen to. The MP3 player is for when I can't get reception.

Yep. I mostly listen to talk radio (WGN - Chicago is pretty much the standard on my tuner, or NPR) or CDs in the car. The Linkin Park thing is funny...sad, but true.

We do have one good newer station--that's where I've heard the Flobots song. The station plays mostly new wave stuff from the 80s and alternative from the 90s...with a little bit of current alternative thrown in. Kinda cool to hear songs that I once got tired of. 10-30 years later they seem fresh, again.

Right, got that. But I don't understand how it goes from a bike to guns.
