The “Blog” of “Unnecessary” Quotation Marks (Read 657 times)

Frustrating Project
This is somewhat "entertaining." A "tribute" to people "like" my "dad" who tend "to" use quotation "marks" rather "randomly" and "for" emphasis rather "than" how they're "supposed" to be "used."

Is it appropriate to write, I'm "working" today while I follow the results of the Boston Marathon?

That's very appropriate. I hope someday if I "run" it, you'll "watch" it while "working."

Those are all totally legit.

Wait. This one confuses me.

If you use quotes ... you're implying it ain't the real thing, right?

So what sort of "milk" are they using here exactly?

Stupid Useless Chef Knowledge Time:

" Milk" is what the white liquid part that will secrete from the cob once the kernels are removed. Old Time Folk believe to take the shucked cobs and boil them in hot water to extract the " Milk" into the water and then boil the corn in the liquid. It is supposed to make sweet corn even sweeter......

Probably more than you ever wanted to ever attempt to know...... Wink

Yes JK, that is the point of the picture. Putting milk in quotes implies that it is not really milk. And that, my friendly gorilla, is simultaneously intriguing, disgusting, disturbing and vaguely reminiscent of a garlicky odor.

That and what Cheffy said.

Next week on CSI we'll examine the double negative.
