Overstretching - in the middle of the night! (Read 480 times)

Sometimes I wake up with my right knee aching because during the middle of the night I stretched my leg while changing positions. A few times, I stretched so hard that I nearly pulled a calf muscle. When I have a sore achilles, sometimes I'll wear a compression sock from CVS and this supports everything while I sleep and it prevents me from overstretching. I think what happens is that when I'm slightly injured my brain doesn't shut down so every time I wake up slightly and change positions my brain says "gotta stretch". Is this weird?

Even though it makes me feel like I am a senior citizen, I wear compression socks about 2 times a week and almost wore them at last 1/2. I have a few yoga exercises that I use if I am sleeping like cat as an example and some stretches for hips and hams also!
