Hmmm...I have a Redline and have always wanted to do a Polar Bear Swim. Perhaps *I* should do this. I'll leave off the studded tires, though. That could be hurty if I smacked myself on one of those.
That could make a really fun ending to a Winter CX race. We're (our favorite LBS owner and a few of his more off-beat customers/friends) already talking about doing a "cupcake cross" event...kind of a play on the Tour deDonut idea, but with cupcakes and cowbells and mud.
