Cumulus 10 - new shoe blisters (Read 506 times)

Do I look important?

I just bought a pair of Asics Cumulus 10's, but have usually run in kayanos/1100/2100 series'.  After a 13k run I had a huge blister on the inside of my arch, and felt it the whole way running.

    a)Too wide?

b)Shouldve stuck with my motion controls? or

c)just blame it on breaking in the new shoe?

Nobody cares what you didn't do.
Blisters are caused by rubbing -- whether its the shoe, the sock, the weather...whatever.  Personally I find the Cumulus to be a very soft shoe with little structure -- very slipper like.  Maybe that softness allows your arch to rub the sock liner?
Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.

Stayne, I had the same prolblem with my Cumulus 10s. I found that they fit a bit wider than most Asics and I solved the problem by tying the laces a little tighter than I normally would (and building up a callus where the shoe rubs)

          Thanks for the replies.

After putting 100k on the shoes they still were killing my arch with blisters, I tried tightening and different lacing but it didnt change.

I went into a running store and got some great help.  They suggested since Im a mild pronator my foot turns slightly in the shoe causing the blister.  Rather than shell another $150 on new shoes, I bought a $40 insole/orthotic (superfeet) and its helped alot.
